In the wake of the heightened geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan spilling over to the Asia Cup, here is my message to the Pakistani public:
Dear Pakistanis, you’re good people
Only the terrorists are evil
And so is your government
But it won’t be permanent
You all will ensure that
Already, you’re trying your best
I wish you best of luck
The times are indeed dark
Hopefully though, there’ll be a new dawn
I’m sure you can make it happen!
Dear Pakistanis, you’re good people
You deserve no ill will
And have my full support
In this deadly fight
So, please hold your heads high
Sometimes, I cry
Thinking of all the hate
Which you people unfortunately get
I know what it means
To be despised
Or even worse, mistrusted
Maybe mocked
The worst being ignored
I am with you all, dear Pakistanis!!
Dear Pakistanis, you’re good people
Don’t forget this at all
Be true to yourselves
Badly do you need love, happiness and peace
I hope and pray you get them soon
Please do not give up too soon
Again, dear Pakistanis, you’re good people
Don’t forget this at all!!
I am adding this famous song “Gurus Of Peace” composed by the world-class Indian maestro ‘Isai Puyal’ AR Rahman and sung by Rahman himself and late Pakistani singer and songwriter Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan; since I feel this song fits in perfectly with the message of love and peace I am trying to convey:
