I Thought You Considered me A Good Friend

I thought you considered me a good friend

And we shared a strong bond

Always, have I been on your side

But you turned out to be two-faced

Complaining behind my back

And leaving me in the dark

Totally misunderstanding my benign intentions

You ended up destroying my inner peace!

I thought you considered me a good friend

Helped you have I, to no end

Cared for you, especially when you were ill

My affection for you was very real

However, you jumped into the wrong conclusions

And twisted my words

Making them sound inappropriate

Certainly, can you blame me not

For getting hurt!!

I thought you considered me a good friend

Have done for you, many a good deed

You seemed grateful as well

I thought our friendship was real

However, you set my hopes on fire

Really, are you fake to the core!!

I thought you considered me a good friend

But for myself, did you leave me to fend

Anyway, thank you

For teaching me a harsh but essential lesson

It is better to be alone

Than be friends with people like you!!
