Karma Rocks

This is a poem meant as a message to one of my Engineering college friends, who ghosted me just because of a comment on a Facebook photo of hers. Here goes the content:

I always cared for you

Helped you on a number of occasions

Provided moral support, whenever you needed it

But I never realised

That you didn’t see me in the same way

Sure, you had your way with words

You called me your best friend

You even said that I was like a brother to you

Not once, not even twice; but many times

However, those were merely words

Because, had you meant what you said

You wouldn’t have cut me off

Just because of a comment on a Facebook post

Of course, a lot of people have ego issues

In fact, I can count even myself among them

But your ego is at a different level altogether

Are you really so delicate

That you need to be treated with kid gloves?

I think not

In fact, you are insensitive to the core

When it comes to anyone but yourself

You don’t care if other people get hurt

By your words or actions

However, when you yourself are hurt

Then your blood boils

A classic case of double standards

Now you may be thinking

That I am not good at maintaining relationships with women

However, you couldn’t be more wrong

My best friend is a woman

My true best friend, I mean

Not a fake like you

I also have a few other female friends

Though I am not intimate with most of them

Anyway, it is you, who needs to change her behaviour

Especially towards men

No matter what some feminazi friends of yours might say

And I am really looking forward

To the day some male friend of yours ghosts you

Again, for the silliest of reasons

Let’s wait and see

If anyone comes forward to defend you

Karma rocks, doesn’t it?
