Thank You, For Being Such A Good Sister

This is a poem dedicated to Shruti, my closest cousin; with a surprise at the very end. Here goes the content:

Thank you, for being such a good sister

You are like an elder sister

Though you are actually younger

For me, a hell lot do you care

Listening, understanding, empathising

Advising, guiding, scolding

There is no end

We share a truly awesome bond!!

Thank you, for being such a good sister

So stoked am I, to be your brother

With me, do you share really intimate secrets

Ready am I too, to share my deepest secrets

Our relationship has blossomed over the years

From friends to best friends to cousins

Quite the journey, has it been

Thanks to you, very rarely do I feel alone!!

Thank you, for being such a good sister

Almost every week, do you provide some cheer

Through messages, photos, videos

And the best of all, voice notes

Also, greatly do I cherish our long calls

So exciting, is your mere presence!!

Thank you, for being such a good sister

A godsend, is your mother

An extremely kind soul, is your father

Finally, your husband is a damn cool brother!!

Thank you, for being such a good sister

Sometimes though, do you sound like a schoolteacher

So strict, though in a sweet way

Please don’t kill me for these lines

You can just consider them a brotherly tease

Jokes apart, you ensure I am happy

For you, am I ready to do anything morally right

Because, are you the light

Which often guides me towards the right path

As a person, have I shown some growth

Thanks to your unconditional support

Something I will never forget

For the rest of my life

And even after I find a wife

You will forever remain my dearest cousin

Now, let us meet really soon

Please keep that charming smile on your pretty face

And wish you loads and loads of love, success, happiness and peace!!

Here is the surprise dear Shruti, you will have to play it; I am sure you will LOVE it:
