You are the reason I somehow manage to smile

Even when I am extremely dull

Really, are you that ray of sunshine

Which drives away our pain

Because, you do not have a filter

You speak your mind, without any fear whatsoever

And more importantly, raise all those issues

Which we urgently need to address

Truly, do you represent Hope

At a time when we do nothing but mope

Definitely, are you not the average novelist

Your style is very different

Not to mention, quite intriguing

Your love poetry is so charming

While your social and political poems are so full of passionate rage

That you end up setting the stage

For a kind of revolution

Which is probably part of your vision!

Anyway, revolution or not

Always, do you influence our thoughts

Hence, can we even think of achieving the impossible

There is nothing, of which you are not capable

Even given the fact that you are a mother

In fact, must I say, one of the bravest mothers!!

Moreover, when I think of the word ‘activist’

You come to my mind first

So much have you done and so much are you doing
