I Miss You, Dear Sister

Another poem dedicated to my sister Shreeja in London, whom I miss deeply. Here is the content:

I miss you, dear sister

You are like a breath of the freshest air

In the most polluted concrete jungle

Never, do you bungle

Very reassuring, is your presence

Blessed are you, with oodles of common sense

So happy am I, to be your brother

Never, do you put on airs

Calm and level-headed

Not often, are you worried!

I miss you, dear sister

For me, have you always been there

Though we don’t talk often

Your company causes my heart to soften

Even when I am in one of my worst moods

Never, do you brood

Always, do you live in the present

Not often, do you drop hints

Because, you prefer being direct

At the same time, certainly do you not lack tact!!

I miss you, dear sister

Often, have I been a bother

Nevertheless, for you, do I genuinely care a lot

To support you, will I hesitate not

Irrespective of the situation

Very well, do you understand my emotions

A great listener, you are

Always, does talking to you make me feel better!!

I miss you, dear sister

Things are just not the same here

Without your lively presence

In fact, is there a deafening silence

However, I want you to know

That distance is not a big blow

When it comes to our relationship

Because that is so deep

Even the Pacific Ocean can’t hold a candle to it

Really, do I love you to bits

And may God bless you forever

With all the love, happiness, success, peace and prosperity in the world!!
