Never, can I stop writing poems; about the simply outstanding novelist, poet, translator, academic, truly intersectional feminist and anti-caste activist, Dr. Meena Kandasamy – here goes yet another one:

You are my main motivator

One of the best writers

And an even better poetess

Not to mention, one of the most fearless activists

You is it, who provides me hope

When I am about to mope!

You are my main motivator

Because, defined are you, by your valour

In the face of relentless attacks

Including even death threats

Never, do you change tack

Your optimism is exceedingly difficult to beat

Above all, do you keep fighting

Till the very end

Even if there is nothing

For you to gain

Because, are you so kind

That you care about anything and everything

Even if it ends up putting you through unimaginable pain!!

You are my main motivator

Always, does thinking of you make me feel better

Being a poet myself, a lot of ideas have I got

After reading your incredible poetry

Which has inspired me to fight

Against all the evils in our society

Whenever you have fallen

Always, have you come back stronger

Patiently bearing all the pain

Like a consummate warrior!!

You are my main motivator

And someone I will remember forever

Really honoured am I, that you took the time out

To read and acknowledge my extremely long mail

When it comes to courtesy, are you among the best

Never, do you fail

To respect and appreciate your admirers

In spite of having to do a truckload of chores

As far as art is concerned

You are an allrounder, in every sense of the word

Again, you are my main motivator

And will I be your permanent admirer
