This is a poem dedicated to Rene, a very good friend and former colleague of mine. Here goes the content:

Thank you for coming into my life

And reducing my strife

You are an open book

Once, you let me off the hook

Thus, I became a better person

You taught me a valuable lesson!

Thank you for coming into my life

Because of you, do I have a stronger will to live

You are brutally honest

And never hold on to the past

At the same time, are you very kind

And possess a brilliant mind!!

Thank you for coming into my life

Your outspoken nature, I greatly like

You were one of my best colleagues

So happy am I, to be part of your league

Never do you hold back

Is there any positive quality that you lack?

Thank you for coming into my life

In many a way, are we alike

For me, are you always there

Of my needs, are you acutely aware

Also, are you a wonderful mother

And did you get along very well with my late grandmother!!

To Vivek, are you the perfect wife

Twice have I been to your home

On both occasions, have I had an excellent time

You’ve made me feel like family

Having a friend like you makes me very happy!!

Whenever I feel alone

You, do I think of

And does it prove enough

To put a smile on my face

To my life, do you add some spice!!

Though I have not a wife

I have a ruby of a friend

May our relationship never end
