Poem Dedicated To My Sister Shreeja

Another poem dedicated to my sister Shreeja, who is currently completing her LLM in London. Here is the content:

A lot of people

Have played an important role on my life

My parents and grandparents

Close cousins, uncles and aunts

And finally, best friends

However, it is your role

Which may be the most underrated of all

We may not talk a lot

Except when we find common ground

On topics such as movies, food, Harry Potter etc.

But you have always cared for me

In your own and special way

Something that I’d failed to realise

Until about a decade ago

You have been there for me

During the worst phrases of my life

You have put up with my erratic behaviour

On a number of occasions

I truly cannot ask for a better sibling

To share my joys and sorrows with

The trip to London was extremely enjoyable

Especially the time I spent with you

You were an excellent tour guide

And an even better companion

The part which I loved the most

Was putting on a British accent

Only to be told

That it was not even remotely close

To the original accent

Anyway, I miss you a lot

But it is your happiness

That matters to me the most

I hope and pray

That you soon get a good job in the UK

After all, in spite of all its flaws

UK is a pretty good country to live in

Especially as far as the quality of life is concerned

Take care and love you loads
