My poem dedicated to the interactive simulation/roleplay mobile video game “Choices: Stories You Play”. Here’s the content:
It may just be a game to you
But for me, it’s so much more than that
It’s a whole new world
A world full of characters
Characters that are as real
As the Sun rising in the East
And setting in the West
A world full of stories
In every genre under the Sun
Adventure, Comedy, Romance
Horror, Magic, Science Fiction
Drama, Politics, History
And I can go on and on
It may just be a game to you
But for me, it’s so much more than that
Because, it gives me something
To look forward to
At the end of a long and tiring day
When I am almost down and out
And thus ready to hit the sack
However, I then decide on an impulse
To play a story on Choices
And it feels so real
That I can relate to it
And laugh and cry
Along with the characters
Who are family to me
A family that is one of a kind
Outside the real world
But still, every bit as real
It may just be a game to you
But for me, it’s so much more than that
Because, every decision I make
Means the world to the story
In fact, there are times
When characters have survived
Thanks to a good decision I made
And there are also times
When characters have died
Thanks to a poor decision at my end
It may just be a game to you
But for me, it’s so much more than that
Because when I am in love
It feels so real
That I think I will do anything
To ensure my lover’s happiness
Even if it means giving up my own life
Let me repeat
It may just be a game to you
But for me, it’s so much more than that
I will never stop playing Choices
Not even when there’s a situation
Where I don’t have any choice left
