What does love mean to me?

It means a lot of things

It means understanding

It means trust

It means empathy

It means affection

It means give and take

It means sharing

But above all

It means acceptance

What does love mean to me?

It means accepting me

Just as I am

On my good days

And on my bad days

It means understanding me

How I am different from others

How my autism affects me

In my personal and professional life

It means trusting me

On small and big matters

It means being at my side

Through thick and thin

What does love mean to me?

It means a lot of things

It means having things in common

Whether it be food

Whether it be books

Whether it be movies

Whether it be music

Or, most importantly, world views

It means doing things together

Housework as well as having fun

It means helping each other

In every way possible

In short, it means

That we are a team

I back you up

You back me up

There is almost nothing

That we cannot achieve

If we believe in ourselves

What does love mean to me?

It means a lot of things

For instance, my political views

My views on society

In particular; on gender, caste and religion

If you truly love me

You must be ready

To listen to my views

My radical, at times extreme views

And never leave my side

You must be ready

To sit with me at a table

While I order a Beef Biryani

Even if you are a vegan

To do anything for you
