Always Tell The Truth

Poem on why telling the truth is important, though sometimes we may have to make exceptions. Here goes the content:

Always tell the truth

Sounds easy, right?

But it’s actually not

Sometimes, hurt, can the truth

Nevertheless, will it be preferable

To a lie that can make you feel comfortable!

Always tell the truth

Never lie, even in haste

Because, not only does it mean you cheat others

It means you cheat yourself as well

Tell the truth, even if it reduces you to tears

Because, ultimately will it augur well!!

Always tell the truth

Well, now I feel like a hypocrite

Because, I HAVE told lies

But only to protect certain individuals

Nevertheless, WRONG have I done

However, am I not alone

We all make such mistakes

What matters though, is that we LEARN from these mistakes!!

Or at least, TRY to tell the truth

Sometimes, are white lies unavoidable

Because, are peace and harmony preferable

To truths that can wreak havoc

Even if lying is something we heartily dislike

However, are these just EXCEPTIONS

Do NOT provide ammunition

To people who shy away from telling the truth

Again, always tell the truth

Or at least, try to tell the truth

White lies may work in the short term

However, when it comes to the long term

Truth will ALWAYS win
