Poem Dedicated To My Cousin Brother Gautham

Poem dedicated to Gautham, one of my closest cousins. Here goes the content:

There are some people

Who always find a way

To see the funny side of things

Whether it be work or personal stuff

Cricket, politics, railways

Movies, music, food

And the list goes on and on

With no end in sight

You are one of them

No one can put you down

Because they all will be too busy thinking

Whether to laugh or shake their heads

Whenever you come up with one of your jokes

Which happens on an almost daily basis!!

On a serious note, though

I am lucky to have you in my life

And not just because you try to make me laugh

You always provide sound advice

And offer your own perspective

Whenever I tell you about the issues I face

Not to mention, you are extremely helpful

Especially when there is a crisis

And you always make it a point

To call and check on me

Every now and then

We’ve had some great times together

Whenever I’ve come to Chennai

Or you’ve come to Mumbai

As far as Mumbai is concerned

I particularly remember the time

When we and Shreeja had cheesecake at a shop nearby

There was also a memorable occasion

When we explored South Mumbai

And travelled by the famous local trains

As far as Chennai is concerned

We’ve visited a number of places

Especially in the recent past

Best was probably Eating Circles

I also miss those days

When we used to go to Coffee World

Anyway, please keep smiling as always

And come up with some fresh jokes

Again, on a serious note

Though you are not exactly a sibling

You will always be my brother

And a damn good one at that!!
